SSH SFTP software is one of the most commonly used and the most secure (File Transfer Program) FTP programs available. You can access the program from;
ftp://ftp.metu.edu.tr/pub/mirrors/ftp.ssh.com
address. After the installation to facilitate the program it is necessary to click the 'SSH Secure File Transfer Client' icon.
With the Quick Connect button you can open up the window to fill out the necessary information to make a new connection. On this window Host Name, is the name of the FTP server site you want to connect to. User Name is your user account name registered on the FTP server. The Password on the window that appears after you press the Connect button is the password for your user account.
Once the connection is made you can see all the files and folders in your account.
You can use copy and paste commands to transfer any file or folder in your computer to your account, or to transfer any file or folder in your account to your computer.
Another means for computer to the remote account transfers is to right click on a file in the left pane of the window and select, from the menu that opens, the upload option. For remote account server to the computer transfers right click on a file in the right pane of the window and select, from the menu that opens, the download option.
