Account - How do I sign up?

Academic personnel who want to register and use the Turnitin service (only METU Faculty Members and Lecturers/Instructors can apply) should create a ticket/case at https://itsupport.metu.edu.tr/ containing their name/surname, academic/administrative position, and department information.

Note that only academic personnel (lecturers and instructors) can use this service. MSc/Ph.D. and Research Assistants cannot be registered to the system with proper privilege for uploading papers/articles. Instead, the thesis advisor or a previously registered instructor may upload the papers and may share the results with students/assistants. In addition, an instructor may open a master class and add students/assistants as Teaching Assistant to the system with the rights to upload paper/article.

After registration, an email from Turnitin will be received. Following this email, instructors will be able to check plagiarism by uploading the papers they prefer.

About Paper Deletions

As of August 15th, 2022, paper deletion requests will be entirely self-managed inside your Turnitin page, using the automated paper deletion workflow available. This streamlined process allows you to take control of the data privacy of your account without ever having to contact Turnitin. This change will replace the manual multistep process you may have used before, enabling you to delete your institutional papers quickly and efficiently from within your Turnitin account.

Taking the above into account, the Technical Support team will no longer provide support for paper deletion requests from this date. If a paper deletion request is submitted to Turnitin Support from the date provided above, you will be directed to a new, automated paper deletion workflow.
