What is electronic signature (e-signature) and mobile signature (m-signature)?
E-signature or Qualified Electronic Certificate (QEC) is the electronic equivalent of the wet signature used on all web pages. Additionally, it can be used as an authentication tool in various electronic environments (online or offline).
Mobile signature (m-signature) is an application that allows for a secure electronic signature process, equivalent to a wet signature, using a mobile phone and a GSM SIM card.
According to the Electronic Signature Law dated January 15, 2004, and numbered 5070, the secure electronic signature and mobile signature provided by authorized Electronic Certificate Service Providers have the same legal consequences as a wet signature.
E-signature and m-signature, created in compliance with the law, provide a legal basis for computer or electronic document approval processes and eliminate the use of paper. A person wishing to declare intent may use e-signature and m-signature in the institution's document flow system, web services, or e-government services.
