EDMS

Electronic Document Management System (EDMS/EBYS) is a system that identifies, preserves, and manages documents serving as evidence of an organization's activities by maintaining their content, metadata, format, and relational attributes. It ensures the digital management of records within their chain of custody while supporting their evidential value for relevant functions or transactions.

Middle East Technical University's Electronic Document Management System (METU EDMS) has been designed to facilitate internal and external communication among university units, personnel, and legal entities—whether through physical or digitally signed electronic correspondence

As of May 21, 2018, all institutional correspondence (both internal and external) is expected to be conducted via EDMS, except for classified documents or those legally required to be transmitted physically.
