How Can I Use Mobile Signature in EBYS?
Integration studies with GSM operators within the infrastructure of METU Electronic Document Management System (EBYS) have been completed, and the use of Mobile Signature in EBYS has been enabled as of May 21, 2025.
Users with individual lines provided by Turkcell or Vodafone who wish to perform signing operations in EBYS via Mobile Signature must personally contact the relevant operator to obtain a mobile signature. The mobile signature procurement process is entirely individual, and our university is not involved in this process. Users who already have a mobile signature can start using it in EBYS immediately without any additional steps.
Since the procedures related to mobile signature applications—such as application, purchase, activation, pricing, and technical support—may vary among operators, our users can access all details from the information pages listed below and contact the operator directly:

VODAFONE: https://www.vodafone.com.tr/servisler/mobil-imza-servisi
NOTE: The necessary integration work to enable the use of Türk Telekom mobile signatures in EBYS has been initiated. An additional announcement will be made once the process is completed.
Using Mobile Signature in METU EBYS
Mobile signature can be used both for logging into EBYS (via the "Mobil İmza ile Giriş" (Login with Mobile Signature) link) and for signing documents within EBYS.
System Login:
Signing Documents:
When clicking the "e-imzala" (e-sign) button for any document to be signed in EBYS, a side panel will open, displaying the options "Elektronik İmza At" (Sign with Electronic Signature) and "Mobil İmza At" (Sign with Mobile Signature). The user signing the document can choose their preferred signature type and follow the steps displayed on the system screen and the mobile device to complete the signing process.
Important Notes
- Mobile Signature has the same legal validity as wet ink signatures and electronic signatures. Besides EBYS, mobile signatures can also be used for personal transactions in various areas, such as e-Government, public applications, and digital banking.
- Not all mobile devices and SIM cards are compatible with mobile signatures. Users should first check whether their device supports mobile signatures. Additionally, even if the device is compatible, the SIM card may not be, requiring a replacement. A 128K SIM card compatible with mobile signature must be used. Information on which mobile devices support mobile signatures and how to obtain 128K SIM cards can be found on the operators' information pages.
- Users should direct all questions regarding mobile signatures directly to the relevant operator using the links provided above. However, if any errors are encountered while using mobile signatures in EBYS, a support request can also be sent to ebys-destek@metu.edu.tr.
